FOREST SHOOT - ARAGORN

When Rob reached out via Instagram, I was immediately excited at the prospect of collaborating to bring his Aragorn persona to life amidst the autumnal splendour of the Wye Valley. From the moment we arrived, the forest itself seemed to set the stage: golden leaves carpeting winding paths, shafts of morning light filtering through the mist, and the subtle sounds of the woodland creating a sense of quiet anticipation. It was a place where every step offered a new opportunity for storytelling through the lens.

Over the course of several immersive hours, we moved through the valley, experimenting with light, composition, and perspective. The aim was not just to capture a character, but to evoke a mood - a balance between the raw, rugged energy of Aragorn and the calm, almost reverential beauty of the forest. Shadows and highlights danced across the terrain, textures of bark, stone, and fallen leaves providing depth and context, while Rob’s presence brought the cinematic narrative to life. Each frame became a collaboration, a dialogue between the natural environment and the character, where spontaneity and careful planning worked hand in hand.

I am incredibly pleased with the results. The series captures both the drama and serenity of the forest, blending rich textures, moody lighting, and cinematic composition into images that feel at once timeless and alive. Most importantly, I am grateful to Rob for trusting me to interpret his vision and bring it to life within the frame.
